"Prejudice is a disease we can never get rid of." Discuss.

Yes, i agree that prejudice is a disease we can never get rid of. What exactly is prejudice? Prejudice is an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand or without knowledge, thought, or reason. Therefore, someone can have prejudice on someone through the first impression they have of him. It will continue for a very long time and possibly, forever.

This can be seen from the issue between the Black and the White. The prejudice of the Black from the White persisted for centuries from the time that the Black was slaves for the White. This prejudice has always been there as the way of thinking has been passed down the generations. For example, the word 'nigger' is used on the Black by the White since young when they do not even know the meaning behind the word. This word is been used so frequently around them that they do not know that it is a very offensive word and think that it is alright for them to use. It thus can be seen that prejudice has been passed around just like a contagious and incurable disease as it is difficult to stop the mentality of certain issue to be passed on to the young as the surrounding affects the way he will think when he grow up. Children also get influence very easily. Therefore, it is true that prejudice is a disease we can never get rid of.

1. “YouTube has no ethics, it's been created for the sole purpose of entertainment and money.” Do you agree?

Yes, i agree that YouTube is created for entertainment. YouTube is a site on the Internet that was created in February 2005 and bought over by Google in October 2006. It is a place where people could view videos, be it home-made or not, without having to download or register. Due to this site, the founders, Steve Chen and Chad Hurley had earned $1.65 billion stock from Google. Unhappiness about YouTube can be seen as issues such as Viacom-Google fight and Thailand block arised. YouTube was sued by Viacom as copyrighted videos could be found on Youtube website and was banned by Thailand as insulting videos of the king was uploaded on YouTube. Since YouTube do not really care what video is being uploaded on its website, it thus can be seen that YouTube has no ethics and been created for the sole purpose of entertainment.

However, on the other hand, i do not agree that YouTube is created for money. If it had been created for money, registration and monthly fees will be implemented in order to surf the website and the website will also be full of compulsory to watch and pop-out advertisements which will allow YouTube to earn profits. Nevertheless, these are not done and this thus show that YouTube is not created for the sole purpose of money.

Okay. Since my dear Katherine said that the previous entry is short, i shall rewrite one. I studied in Swiss Cottage Secondary School for 4 years before i came to Anderson Junior College. Why did i choose Swiss Cottage? It's because i felt that i couldn't get into Commonwealth Secondary School and most importantly, i heard from my brother there was a MacDonalds in Swss.. In the end, i realised i was cheated by him. Where on earth is the Mac? Initially, I hated it as i didn't know anyone in Swiss Cottage. Gradually, i began to make new friends and felt that Swiss was a fun place afterall. =) i joined SJAB as i was attracted by the huge amount of trophies they displayed and the photographs which show them having fun. We were also told that there will be trips to places like Saint John Island and Malaysia. In the end, things were not what i thought. Our new principal did not allowed us to go and life in SJAB was horrendous. It was like hell as we were punished on every parade. I remembered that whenever we were punished, we would cursed them under our breath. I dreaded the CCA days and began to skip CCA. However, when i was Secondary 3, my mentality of SJAB changed. We eventually got closer with the SIRS through all the events that we were planning like Welcome Party, Training Camp and etc. Although our performance was not up to standard and were still being punished, we were having fun. The sad thing was that some unhappy incidents happened and caused us to pass out during early January. All thanks to the CUTE and HELPFUL group of passout members. i shall not mention it and not talk of bygones. Looking back, my fellow squadmates and i missed those days that we were punished as it was also part of the fun part we had. It will be a part of my memories for the rest of my life.
